Main Street, Newton Burgoland, Leicestershire, LE67 2SE, GB

Hello my name is Kevin Millward and I have been cleaning carpets and upholstery since 2000. Most carpets will be dry within 1-2 hours to help minimise any disruption to you and all the solutions used are completely safe and non-toxic. I am fully insured and all my work is fully guaranteed. If you are not completely satisfied with my services I will first endeavour to put right whatever it is you are not happy with, but if you still not happy then you just don’t pay me it’s as simple as that! Based in the village of Newton Burgoland in Leicestershire I am only 3 miles from Measham in Derbyshire, 3 miles from Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire and 5 miles from Market Bosworth in Warwickshire and 10 miles from Tamworth in Staffordshire, so I am in easy reach of anywhere in these four counties. The cleaning process used is called “Hot water extraction”. The heated cleaning solution is pumped from a machine that remains outside of your property under 3 bars of pressure, this will enable a deep clean. The solution is then immediately extracted with 2 powerful vacuums. This means that only the fibres your carpet get cleaned. The actual backing of the carpet does not get wet and more importantly neither does the underlay allowing your carpet to be dry within 1-2 hours. After the initial clean I will then carry out a process known as carpet skimming which is a rotating towel head which not only helps dry the carpet but will remove any emulsified soils that had been left on the carpet fibres. I will then concentrate on cleaning the edges of your carpet and door entrances as well as the skirting boards and attempt to remove any stubborn marks also. Finally I will rake your carpet, this will stand all your carpet fibres upright to assist the air circulation which in turn will accelerate the drying. Ask us to clean 3 rooms and we will clean a fourth room for FREE

Frequently Asked Questions About Carpet Cleaning

Find answers to common questions about carpet cleaning, its benefits, different methods, and choosing the right carpet cleaning service in the UK.

How often should I have my carpets cleaned?

The recommended frequency for carpet cleaning depends on several factors:
  • Foot Traffic: Areas with high foot traffic, such as hallways and living rooms, require more frequent cleaning than low-traffic areas like bedrooms.
  • Pets: Households with pets need more frequent carpet cleaning to remove pet hair, dander, and potential accidents.
  • Children: Homes with young children who play on the floor also benefit from more frequent carpet cleaning.
  • Allergies: People with allergies may need to have their carpets cleaned more often to reduce allergens.

As a general guideline, it's recommended to have your carpets professionally cleaned every 12-18 months. However, adjust the frequency based on your specific needs and lifestyle. For high-traffic areas or households with pets or children, consider cleaning every 6-12 months.

Can carpet cleaning remove wine stains?

The success of removing wine stains depends on the type of wine, the carpet fiber, and how quickly the stain is addressed. For fresh wine stains, try these steps:
  • Blot Immediately: Blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb as much wine as possible. Avoid rubbing.
  • Club Soda: Pour club soda on the stain, let it fizz, then blot. Repeat if necessary.
  • White Vinegar and Dish Soap: Mix a solution of white vinegar, dish soap, and water. Apply to the stain, let it sit for a few minutes, then blot.
  • Hydrogen Peroxide: For stubborn stains, test a small amount of hydrogen peroxide on an inconspicuous area first. If safe, apply to the stain, let it sit for a few minutes, then blot.
  • Professional Carpet Cleaning: For older or set-in wine stains, professional carpet cleaning is recommended.

Avoid using red wine to remove a white wine stain, as it can worsen the problem.

How do I get rid of stains on my carpet?

The effectiveness of stain removal depends on the type of stain, the carpet fiber, and how long the stain has been there. Here are some general tips:
  • Act Quickly: The faster you address a stain, the easier it is to remove.
  • Blot, Don't Rub: Blot the stain with a clean cloth or paper towel to absorb as much of the spill as possible. Rubbing can spread the stain and damage the carpet fibers.
  • Use a Cleaning Solution: Use a carpet cleaning solution or a mild detergent mixed with water. Test the solution on an inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't cause discoloration.
  • Work from the Outside In: When applying a cleaning solution, work from the outside edges of the stain inward to prevent it from spreading.
  • Rinse and Dry: Rinse the area thoroughly with clean water and blot dry. Use a fan or open windows to aid drying.
  • Professional Stain Removal: For stubborn stains or if you're unsure about the best approach, consult with a professional carpet cleaning company.

Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage your carpet.

How do I remove pet hair from my carpet?

Pet hair can be a persistent challenge for carpet owners. Here are some effective removal methods:
  • Vacuum Regularly: Use a vacuum cleaner with a pet hair attachment or a strong suction power to remove pet hair frequently.
  • Rubber Broom: A rubber broom or squeegee can effectively gather pet hair from carpets.
  • Lint Roller: For smaller areas or furniture, a lint roller can pick up pet hair.
  • Damp Cloth or Sponge: A damp cloth or sponge can help collect pet hair.
  • Professional Carpet Cleaning: For deep cleaning and removal of embedded pet hair, professional carpet cleaning is recommended.

Regular vacuuming and the use of specialized tools can help keep pet hair under control.
